God Sent His Word...
By Timothy W. Burnett
God's word is able to heal our hearts and minds to the end that we can humbly and meekly tap into the more than abundant life He promised in John 10:10b. We have God's word where it says, "He sent His word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions" (Psalms 107:20). What a fantastic truth for us to meditate on and plant in our hearts. This has already come to pass. Jesus Christ voluntarily gave his life as God's purchased price for all of mankind. Jesus was beaten and scraped brutally so that we can be mentally and physically healed. Now Jesus is Lord. He is the living Messiah who is seated at the right hand of God's authority. Jesus Christ is our power of attorney to step boldly to God's throne of grace and receive healing in all areas of life.

In the name of Jesus Christ we can receive with boldness the living word of God. We can get the dynamically positive results God promises in His word. When people get filled with holy spirit and born-again, they have full and complete access to all of God's promises unto the glory of God. See
2 Corinthians 1:20, "For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him amen, unto the glory of God by us." The words "yea" and "amen" are better translated "indeed" and "guaranteed." The verse more accurately reads, "For all the promises of God in him [Jesus Christ] are indeed, and in him guaranteed, unto the glory of God by us." In the name of Jesus Christ, who is alive and in heaven, all of God's promises are guaranteed to the end that God is glorified by us.

In order to live in that gracious healing from God, we must spend more time in His rightly divided word. His word should be magnified in our hearts and minds. You see, it's all about God's word which is alive for us through our Lord ?Jesus Christ. Yet even now, God is a God of free will. His ability to work in our lives is limited only to our willingness to act on His word. And our willingness to act on His word is limited only to our willingness to think on His word. We have seen God's word where it says, "Guard your heart with all diligence for out of it are the issues of life"
(
Proverbs 4:23). Our life's deepest thoughts, decisions and actions issue from the heart. And to guard these we must put God's word in the heart. We must pray to God often with thankful hearts, making our requests known to Him.

Philippians 4:8-9 sums it up perfectly, "Finally Brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if any praise, think on these things. Those things which ye have both learned, received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you." All those deep pains and anger and fears and strong desires will truly disappear when we continue to think on those things mentioned above, and the God of peace absolutely shall be able to work mightily in our lives when we do those things which we both learned, and received, and heard, and saw in God's servant the apostle Paul. We have God's word written to the body of Christ in the epistles. This is our instruction manual for tapping into God's powerful and healing words of everlasting life. We have the book of Acts which show how God is able to work mightily for His people during this age of grace. God truly sent His word and healed us. It is our responsibility to do what it takes to benefit from what God so graciously gave through our Lord Jesus Christ.
