Square 1 - make 5 with colors C and A.
Square 2 - make 4 with colors D and B.
Square 3 - make 4 with colors E and C.
Square 4 - make 4 with colors F and D.
Square 5 - make 4 with colors A and E.
Square 6 - make 4 with colors B and F.
Ch 4, sl st to beg ch to form a ring.
Rnd 1- Ch 3, 13 dc in ring, sl st to beg ch-3.
Rnd 2- Ch 3, dc in same sp, 2 dc in each dc @, sl st to beg ch-3, finish off.
Rnd 3- Join color G with sl st in same sp, ch 1, sc in same sp, * hdc in next dc, dc in next dc, (dc, tr, ch 2, tr, dc) in next dc, dc in next dc, hdc in next dc, sc in next 2 dc* rep @, sl st to beg sc, finish off.
Rnd 4- Join next color with sl st in any corner, ch 5, 2 dc in same sp, dc in each st @, with (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in each corner, dc in beg corner, sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch-5, finish off.
FACE: With 336 barrington, backstitch mouth across top of 7 dc of Rnd 1 along the bottom edge of the square; skip 2 dc, wrap yarn 3 times and make a french knot, skip 3 dc, make another french knot, finish off.
NOTE: When making french knots, do not pull too tight. Allow them to be slightly different in shape and size, giving it a more whimsical appearance.
Assembly: with right sides tog, Whip stitch squares tog in back loops only, according to the chart.
Border: Join color G with sl st in any corner, ch 1, [sc in corner, ch 4, 6 tr in same sp, ch 4, sc in same sp] corner made; (sc, ch 3, 4 dc, ch 3, sc) 3 times evenly spaced across each square and once in each joining, rep (to ) @, with [ to ] corner pat in each corner, sl st to beg sc, finish off.
