Lucy's poem
aged 10
a tribute to all who suffered in the second world war
BOOM BOOM BANG
00000000000000000000000000000000
The deafening air raid siren shouted and warned to take cover
Boom; boom bang, the bombs are coming
Planes fluttering over London and the bombs are jumping off the
Planes to hit London.

Boom; boom, bang,  the bombs are getting ready to hit.
Roaring fire running for its prey to clear London.
Boom; boom bang,  the bombs are fighting.
The fire hose bravely crying to exterminate the fires.

Boom; boom bang,  the bombs are falling.
Buildings tripping over each other finally whacking the hard ground.
Boom; boom bang,  the bombs are coming closer.

Anderson shelters shield the hurt peop0le.
Boom; boom bang,  the bombs have hit.
Boom; boom bang,  it only hit the shelter (phew!)
A comment by Lucy's teacher:-
Lucy has been chosen for the proud book this week for her amazing WW2 poetry.  She has used similes,  metaphors and personification to write a powerful image and it has a huge impact on the reader.
