My Personal View of The Ouija
Personally, I think the ouija board can "technically" work for a great majority of people when it comes to simply communicating with spirit. Most have enough psychic abilities to enable the planchette to move truly of it's own accord, with others or alone. However, the quality of the spirit is highly questionable when it comes to this technique. I believe the ouija can and does mostly attract earthbounds (or spirits in the lower dimensions). These spirits are not well adjusted. They are basically ghosts who mostly do not know they are deceased or who wish to return into physical life. Some are keeping themselves in the lower dimensions out of anger, jealousy, greed and other such petty meanness. When one opens a portal to these spirits, "they" will do anything to keep you on the board and to keep this ray of light open to them. They however are not in their right minds and they often remain as ignorant in that state as they were in life. They may make spelling or grammatical errors and make bizzarre statements. Often they are completely unaware of times and dates and are inconsistent in most of what they say. Sometimes, they are downright threatening and cruel as they were in life. Other times, they will lie about who they are and who they might have been. They will tell you anything they can to garner pity and sympathy. They may be outwardly polite but you may sense something unsettling underneath the surface. Sometimes they will ask you to free them since they wish to further descend to our plain which is a place more familiar to them.

I suppose then that I mostly have a negative view of the ouija. I have heard and experienced little that is positive about it. I do not think they should be selling ouija's at Toy"s"rus, a child's store....it is not a child's toy for certain. We must take the spiritworld seriously and with respect and reverence. Saying that, I do think that the ouija should be completely avoided or ignored as a possible method for spirit communications. It may still be useful in proving or disproving the afterlife in the future. Perhaps it has happened that positive and well adjusted spirits have tried to communicate with us through the ouija but I have yet to hear of this. My Spirit Guide's Thoughts on the Ouija
My spirit guide has a slightly different opinion on the matter. She basically doesn't see anything good at all about ouija boards while I still think it may have a few positive applications in the field of parapsychology for example. NOTE: Anything in brackets is myself trying to clarify a reference.

Jessica says: "I believe this use of the board is not a very smart option in communicating with us. You see much lower negative energies are following these portals. You understand you are creating portals in time and space. People are creating rifts in time and space and make these poor souls very unhappy and angry. It seems these souls are so confused about who they are and how they got there. They would be considered insane by your earthly standards. It is an unhealthy activity. You should not use ouija boards.  You see over here we know about these devices of communication but we prefer mediums and persons with abilities. We try to minimize devices. The human body is a pure source. Portal openers (the ouija) are not a positive way to communcate with your friend or loved ones. A better way is to pray, to talk to us and trust that we will hear you. We do see you and you will see us soon. Best advice I could give is to try to learn from what you have heard. Many energies become relocated. You can create a serious danger to your mental health. A spirit off a board cannot kill you or harm you. But the energies can harm your mind and body. Negative energies in any form can harm you. Avoid this activity. Not for moral reasons rather for the smart reason of self protection."
Proper Use of The Ouija
Okay, your still curious and still want to give the ouija a try. Well if you feel you have to, then at least observe a few important things to increase your safety.

1. It's not a big deal if you work the ouija by yourself. However, you are better to be with another at least. I think it helps split the energies being sent out from the board among the users. This diminishes a lot of side effects some people may have such as headache or stomach ache. The spirit in the board is also not firmly focused on you and this will help you not to become so entangled in the spirits emotional situation. So as a general rule at least have a another person join you in placing their hands over the plancette.

2. Be completely respectful! This is not the time to be silly or childish. You must be honest about using the plancette properly (do not move it yourself as a joke) and you must have respect for the universe and the energies that surround you. Do not curse at them. Do not incite them to anger. Say thank you and good-bye politely.

3. Never ask them to prove themselves or to perform something for you. While I know this is supposed to be part of the show, please remember the spirits are not trick ponies. They will be very willing to show you they exist and you may get more than what you asked for. You may even gain a new unseen "friend" in your house after that. These types of spirits are difficult to rid of and they can become attached to you in that they may follow you from one location to another. You do not want that kind of negative energy following you around.

4. Use the ouija in short intervals. Try to make a session no more than an hour. You will find yourself feeling very drained. My spirit guide informs me this is not good for your immune system.
