Normalcy was difficult to maintain in an environment that ...well let's say was anything but. Often, supernatural activity was of the usual nature. Poltergeist activity like objects moving or disappearing or unexplainable noises etc...were common enough. However, more remarkable manifestations occurred in my old home. Entities were certainly witnessed, or felt by three of the four family members. I will recount the stories of each in turn. Each one of these experiences can prove, that the house was not subject to just an ordinary haunting. The following short stories are evidence something bizarre was going on around us at that time...

Some of My Father's Experience(s)
My Father's most frightening experience began on a night driving back home. It was very late and my father was returning from having a fun night at the race track. I must stress, that my Father rarely if ever drinks alcohol, and he was very sober that night. It was a normal drive at first, but as he got closer to our home, he started to feel like someone was intensely watching him. The feeling was so very tangible. He could sense he was no longer alone in the car. That was when he looked in the rearview mirror. To his absolute horror there was the face of a very evil, twisted looking man. His face was of complete hatred. My father was terrified. He continued to see this figure until it disappeared. Upon arriving home he felt a little shaken up, so he went upstairs to the kitchen and drank a glass of cold milk. Now he resolved he had to go to bed no matter what since he had to get up very early for work the next day. Going downstairs to my parents bedroom, he got ready for bed. My mother was trying to sleep but had definitely been awakened by my Father's arrival. Just then my Father felt the same feeling he'd had in the car. He instinctively looked at the dresser mirror. There the man was again! He shrieked in fright. He began to point and exclaim to my Mother "Don't you see him!". He described him to my Mother, but she could not see what he claimed to see. This was not the first time this particular presence made himself known to my Father either. (I personally believe that this entity wished to undermine the protector of the family.) On another night, my Father was awake in his bed when he swore to my Mother that he could see a man pacing up and down the hallway in front of mine and my sister's bedroom. He shouted "Look can't you see him, he keeps looking into the girls rooms?!" He soon disappeared however. In the morning things went back to routine. In the light of day one feels it might have been fatigue, a dream...a silly figment of one's imagination. I do not believe this is so. I believe my Father. I know he is, in fact, telling the truth and that he was not imagining. I myself witnessed something very like him sometime later.

Some of My Sister's Experience(s)
| My sister's life in the house was as equally difficult as mine. Her room was also a place where one could experience a multitude of manifestations. In relation to entities, there are a few experiences which certainly stand out. When I was not sleeping in her room, my sister as I did, had to go through many sleepless and uncomfortable nights. She often was left helpless and afraid in her bed while she could hear footsteps sweep across and around her bed. The swishing noise was quite audible in the shag carpeting. It was so very thick, and so my sister could trace the travel of her unseen visitor, whom she felt was not amicable. Sometimes, she would get the nerve to tell it to go away. One night when she was lying in bed, she felt what was like a person or thing jump onto her chest. She could barely make noise but my Mother heard her (the close proximity of the bedrooms helped). My sister was just a child but she claimed that "something had been pushing or jumping on my chest". My Mother did not fully understand what had happened that night. We still cannot explain it to this day.. We know though that my sister is not and never has been prone to asthma or panic attacks. Another most remarkable manifestation, to be seen as well as heard, by my sister (and myself included) occasionally could be seen at her bedroom doorway. Sometimes, one could wake up in the night to see what looked like little hooved creatures (similar to elves or dwarfs). They were approximately three feet tall, wore clothes and spoke amongst themselves in whispers. I myself recall the sound of them very clearly. It was a very distinctive noise. The sound was really a combination of snickers, breathing ,snapping, whispered words one could never understand and the occasional grunt. They never attempted any harm on either of us. However their presence was uncomfortable and frightening, despite the fact they never entered the room, and only occasionally peeked in. Have you seen these creatures or know more about them?
