Hi all! I have a new experience which happened only a week ago from this date. Please give it a read....
You see, a year and a half ago (from this date) I was nearly kidnapped by a man while I was walking home from work. This occured a second time a month later along with other strange signs that pointed to someone trying to pick up women in my neighborhood. I became very afraid and from that time on either got my Father to pick me up whenever he could or get walked home by my boyfriend. I did this until very recently. I realized that I finally had to regain my independence and try to live normally again. This time though I equipped myself with a can of mase and a cellphone. Last week I had to walk home after getting off the bus all alone after all this time. I was very nervous and tried to quiet my fears and paranoid feelings as I got onto the bus after work. I hated the idea of going home in this late fall weather and darkness (after five o'clock). I gritted my teeth ten minutes before I got off the bus. During that, to calm myself I imagined myself in the doorway of my home. I could feel the warmth, hear my family and I felt safe. I visualized this for a minute or so and it made me feel more comfortable. I soon got off the bus and nervously went home. No trouble occurred. However, I was incredibly pleased to get home. I walked in the door and went upstairs to collect my dog who my Mother had been watching while I was at work. I then took him downstairs and was starting to take off my coat and such (I live in a downstairs apartment) when I saw my Mother searching the laundry and storage rooms. The she came up to me and said, "Is everything okay". She looked concerned. Not wanting to tell her how nervous I had been that night I said I was fine. She then continued, "Because we heard you come home before you came home". She looked at me with a little confusion and explained. "We were upstairs and we heard the door open. We heard you walking downstairs. The dogs barked, they thought you'd come home but when I opened up the door to see if you were downstairs you weren't there. All the doors were closed....(she added) it was about ten minutes before you (actually) came home". I looked at her and knew right away what I must have done. I must of projected myself or something along these lines. I remember feeling myself be in my house when I visualized it. I must of done like my mother said, "come home before I came home..." This is the second time I've done this but as far as I know this I haven't done this in years. |
