Van is a 15 year-old KING!! He is Fanelias king, but he was only named to see it destroyed by the Zaibach Empire, he is the one Hitomi saw in her vision in the first episode, at the beggining he is a VERY BAD swordsman, everyone beats him!!! but with experience he gets really better!!! it�s incredibly what the needs of showing everyone that he is the best or the needs of revenge can do!!! that's why I consider him arrogant, but I also think he is loyal, shy, and with a HEAVY sense of duty, because he is ready to die only to revenge Fanelia or .... if you watch the series you can tell, I HIGHLY recomend it, it�s one of the best series I have seen!!!, well, returning to Van, who I think is the best character of the best series, he has a very sad story, he has been orphan since he was 5, he lost his father when he was 3, his mother dissapeard when he was only 5, and his big brother (Folken) dissapeard when he was at a dragon hunt.
The series beggins, and he only has Balgus, who is like his sword teacher and Merle, Balgus gets killed trying to defend Fanelia, and Van and Hitomi are transported to the woods, while Merle watches how Fanelia gets consumed by fire, but then she finds her "master Van!!!".
He has his bad things at first, but then you get to know him better and you see he has a good heart and you rather like his attitude, because he is just a normal teenage except because he has Escaflowne and he is a riyuyin (people with wings like angels). |
