I have had some really awesome career choices in my life. I have been a nurse, bus driver, cashier and a starving actor. But I would have to say that doing stand up comedy has been the most rewarding.
I have had the great fortune of sharing my comedic style in various clubs in Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. Although being a Minnesotan for 20 years has made this my favorite place to perform.
One of my favorite and frequented places was Knuckleheads Comedy Club, 4th floor of Mall of America. Now this was a great club. It wasn't big or fancy but, I always felt relaxed and had more fun with the audience. Sad to say it closed down last year. ( nothing to do with my jokes...I hope...! )
I have performed at the "Acme Comedy Gallery, Scott Hansen's Gallery West and "The Minnesota Comedy Club".
I have been lucky enough to share the stage with some of Minnesota's finest comedic talent. The comic that I enjoyed the most was Louie Anderson. He is one funny guy. It can be intimidating to be with someone so talented, however.
Since leaving the cities, two years ago, I haven't had the chance to do much performing. I do try to get to the old haunts as much as possible, when I am in the cities.
One of the strangest parts of doing comedy for me is that most of the people I am close to have never seen me perform. I have always been a bit phobic about having friends in the audience.
Strangers are easier to perform for....wow that doesn't sound good at all..!!
I will be returning to more scheduled performances this summer. So...C'mon back and check out this site. I will keep it updated when I get some bookings.
