For a girl, being a bride has always been a thing to which to look forward, even for a Fairy like me and when I married Housemistress Alystra, I was so full of pride that I was in tears as she lifted my veil and kissed me and like all Fairy brides, I still dress in bride's clothes and still get a little misty-eyed when Alystra Kirilise Floricette lifts my veil to kiss me. And we have been married for over 200 years.

This was not always so for Fairies, in fact, for a long time, being taken as a Bride was a thing to be dreaded as it usually meant being kept in rubber. At one time, the girl whose misfortune it was to be a bride was little more than a doll for her Housemistress and the wedding ceremony included laying the bride on a rubber-covered bed, lifting her short little bride's dress and wetsying her in front of all to show what she was and stating with her brides' outfit, all her dresses were well abouve the knee and all her clothes were rubber. If the bride did not scream and cry then it was considered a bad omen and that the housemistress was inferior. and for soooo long we had the phrase "cry like a bride". Also "wet like a bride".

At that time, there was a test given to a Fairylet to see if she would be a bride or a housemistress. This was don at the age of four nad is a wonderful form of rubber treatement for a Little Girl. This is what was done: The little girl was shown pictures of weddings and then what went on after that. Then she was dressed in rubber and a very big dolly was also dressed in rubber and the two of them were put in the rubber sleeping bag or in the rubber chastizement room in the rubber bed and Nurse would watch what happened. One of two things would happen. The girl would play that the bride is the dolly and she is taking her to bed and subduing her and giving her a wetsy. the other is that she is being raped by the dolly, trying to fight her off but losing and getting the wetsy.

It was believed that if the girl was raped by Dolly that she was not fit to be a Housemistress and would make a good bride. She was then gradually prepared to be a bride for a family of higher status.
