| ~Bow Tie Guy~ Materials: red, navy, brown, green or black paint; material scraps at least 8" Xl0" in size, , glue, white poster board Procedure: cut large bow tie-shaped pieces from the scraps of material. For each bow tie shape, also cute one 2" to 2 1/2" circle from the same material. Glue bow tie shape on the poster board and let dry. DO NOT glue the circle at this time. Paint both hands of each student a color to coordinate with the tie fabric and press hard to print on top of the fabric. Again, alow time for drying. Glue circle of material where palms meet. it did not say, but i would cut out the poster board just larger than you will be using, and when everything dry, trim it to the shape of your fabric.... Fold construction paper and glue on front. Inside, put a fathers day poem.... (childs name) The underlines are glued pieces of candy on the sheet. ~A Pat On The Back For Dad~ Materials: Men's T-shirts Fabric Paint Directions: Have the children make handprints on the back of the T-shirts, then write, "This Dad Needs A Pat On The Back." ~Snacks For Dad~ Materials: Construction paper Small coffee cans Clear contact paper Stickers, paints, markers, crayons, etc. 2 boxes of fish shaped crackers 1 large bag of pretzels 1 large bag of raisins 2 boxes cheerios Popcorn Directions: First, make decorated snack food containers for Father's Day. Cut the construction paper to fit the coffee cans. Let the children decorate the construction paper with stickers, paint, markers, crayons, etc. Glue the children's decorated papers onto the coffee cans and then cover with clear contact paper. Next, make a Father's Day snack to put into the cans. Let the children help mix the fish crackers, pretzels, raisins, cheerios, and popcorn together. Fill the cans with this snack. | ~A Wallet for Dad~ -2 pieces of construction paper(2.5x3.5) -Punch holes in the paper on each side -kids can "sew" the pieces together and put coupons for dad inside. Decorate as desired idea from Laura :O) ~Nuts and Bolts Paperweight~ ~Large mixing bowl ~ spoon ~measuring cup ~plastic of paris ~water ~assortment of nuts, bolts, ~nails, and screws ~old newspaper ~silver spray paint ~chalk ~brightly colored felt scraps ~scissors ~glue Instructions: 1. In large mixing bowl, mix together the plaster of paris and water (two parts plaster to one part water). Stir until the mixture is smooth. 2. Give each child a handful of plaster. Ask each child to mold the plaster into a mound, about 3" in diameter. 3. Children will decorate the plaster mounds by pressing a variety of nuts, bolds, nails, and screws into the surfaces. 4. Set he children's paperweights on old newspapers and let dry for two or three days. 5. When the paper weights have dried, spray-pain them silver. Let dry. 6. To make a protective covering for the bottom of each paperweight, ask each child to trace the paperweight onto a scarp of felt, using chalk. Assist each child in cutting out the felt shape and trimming its edges another 1/4 ". The felt shape will then be glued onto the bottom of the paperweight. A find by Traci (DCL) |
