7-20-02 People cannot consistently behave in ways that are inconsistent with the way they perceive themselves. Your forgiven but not redeemed. A Christian is not simply a person who is forgiven and goes to heaven. Eternal life isn't something you get when you die. God has given us eternal life, and this is life in His Son. Eternal life is NOW. If we don't have spiritual (eternal) life before we die physically, we anticipate only hell. The moment you were born again your soul came into union with God. You became spiritually alive and your name was written in the Lamb's book of life Eternal life is not something you get when you die. Dear believer, you are spiritually alive in Christ right now. You will never be more alive than you are right now. Your spiritual life in Christ, which began when you personally trusted Him, will merely continue on. Salvation is not a future addiction, it is a present transformation
7-25-02 Never forget the things the Lord does for you. He forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases. He ransoms you from death and surrounds you with love and tender mercy. He fills your life with good things. He will not constantly accuse you, nor remain angry forever. He has not punished you for all your sins, nor does he deal with you as you deserve. He has removed your rebellious acts at far away as the east is from the west. The Lord is like a father to his child, tender and compassionate to those who fear him. For he understands how weak we you; he knows you are only dust. |
7-28-02 You are as stubborn as a heifer, so the Lord will put you out to pasture. You will stand alone and unprotected, like a helpless lamb in an open field. Hosea 4:16 They look everywhere except to heaven, to the most High. Hosea 7:16 We need greater consistency in our prayer lives and just continually giving our problems to the Lord. And you can't just pretend you trust him and hang on to a little corner of it. The Lord knows what's best for us. He is our God forever and ever, and he will be out guide until we die. Psalm 49:14
7-31-02 Sometimes I entertain the desires of the flesh instead of crucifying them. The day will come when God, by Jesus Christ, will judge everyone's secret life. The sacrifice the Lord wants is a broken spirit- a broken and repentant heart. God's love for you is the great eternal constant in the midst of all the inconsistencies of your daily walk.
8-1-02 We are often deceived into thinking that God needs our help. God knows when we need a sure word, and works around our lack of maturity in times of great need. We need to take captive of every thought and make it obedient to Christ. Too many times Christ says, "If you are so interested in what I think, then why didn't you do the last thing I told you?" Obedience is the response that keeps a dialog going. If we refuse to do what God tells us in the little things, we risk deafening our spiritual ear.
8-18-02 Prayer is not a way of making use of God; prayer is a way of offering ourselves to God in order that He should be able to make use of us. It may be that one of our great faults in prayer is that we talk too much and listen too little. When prayer is at its highest, we wait in silence for God's voice to us. Not only does sin hinder prayer; prayer hinders sin. The two are always opposed. The more careless we are about sin, the less we will pray. The more we pray, the less careless we will be about sin. Both sin and prayer are powerful forces. Which one is moving you? Pray that we will not be resentful when God gives to someone else the task we were hoping to do.
