On September 30th and October 1st Relient K headlined at The Glasshouse in Pomona, and The Whiskey in LA This small town band has been around for about four years now, and has been �pressing on� ever since. The first show was sold out and held at The Glasshouse. As the lights dimmed, the fans grew louder in hopes of seeing their favorite member. Matt slowly walked on stage with a smirk on his face as the other band members followed. Their set list consisted of most of the songs from their new album TWO LEFTS DON�T MAKE A RIGHT �BUT THREE DO the crowd knew each and every word to the songs as they sang along song by song. With the catchy lyrics and the pop punk tune, the kids just didn�t know what to do but jump up and down throwing their hands in the air screaming with every ounce of energy they saved for this amazing band. I was in the front about four feet away from the singer, Matt �M@� thiessen being thrown around by the crowd and pumped up by the energy that the room held that night. With the ending song �Jefferson Airplane� the crowd died down to take in the last song of the night and enjoy what Relient K brought that night. The band left the stage, packed up their equipment, and stuck around at the end to sign anything from shirts to shoes to posters to ticket stubs. My shirt was soaked from jumping around and just going crazy. I talked to Matt (lead singer/guitarist) and Brian (bassist) who invited me to attend tomorrow night�s show at The Whiskey. So I went and they greeted me with open arms and thanked me for supporting them again.
The Whiskey was there first show in LA but wasn�t as good as Glasshouse (Pomona) but Relient K didn�t play anything less than perfect. They played the same set but threw out two of their songs due to time and stayed around signing more signatures. Before I left the building I thanked the band for coming out and jamming as they thanked me once more for the support, and then headed out to my car where I listened to their album all the way home, then fell asleep knowing I just had the best week.
