Toby got into his truck and started the long drive to his ranch. He couldn’t wait to get home and take a nice hot shower. He had been trying for the last two weeks to get some more horses to train, and finally he hit the jackpot. He was going to start training some horses to be cutting horses for a rancher in Austin. He had been afraid he wouldn’t get any clients for his business. Since the cattle raids in Texas people were afraid to send their horses to him. He was relieved when he had met Jackson Blythewood at the conference in Missouri. Blythewood didn’t have the time or the experience, and Toby was known for his horses, so they made a deal. Toby felt energized and ready to go. He couldn’t wait to get started.

The horses would hopefully arrive soon. He was eager to get back to work. Toby thought about his good fortune all the way home. He couldn’t wait to tell Corley and John the good news. He would have to call his brother Clay and give him the good news as well. But what he needed now, was his own bed to sleep in. Unfortunately when he thought about his bed he also thought about the woman at the Dallas airport. He saw her sitting on the steps all over again. He could still see her copper tendrils blowing in the breeze, sea green eyes bright with tears, red moist lips puffy from worrying them, long slender neck bowed in distress.

Toby shook his head. He had to stop thinking about her or it was going to drive him crazy. It was bad enough that the woman had haunted his dreams the whole time he had been in Missouri. He was finding it difficult to concentrate on things he needed to do.
