Well, she was our first-born!! I'll NEVER forget the moment I found out I was pregnant! I was overtaken by intense feelings of excitement, fear and love all at once! The 8 months that followed were the longest I'd ever known! I thought the time would NEVER come! But on December 9th, 1993 at 6 am, it finally happened!! My water broke! Warren and I were excited, we thought it wouldn't be too much longer until we got to see our daughter...Boy, were we in for a BIG surprise! Time went by, and by, and BY! Finally, after 23 hours of labor with an hour and a half of pushing, the Dr. decided we HAD to get her out!! So, off to surgery we went! I didn't care, I just wanted her out!! I was sooo exhausted! The only unfortunate thing was that the anesthesiologist could not place the spinal correctly, so I would have to be put under General anesthesia! |

So, off to dreamland I went! Luckily, Warren was right beside me, holding my hand...He got to watch our daughter take her first breathe on December 10th at 5:48 am! The doctor, then, realized why she could not come out on her own!! She was a BIG baby girl! Weighing in at 10 lbs. 12 and 1/4 oz... The nurses told me his eyes nearly bugged out when he pulled her out!! LOL She was born healthy, but the next week or so seemed like a big dream...We had to stay in the hospital for a week because Tianna developed an infection due to the length of time the water was broke without her being born... She had to be on IV antibiotics and spend time under the bili-lights due to jaundice...It broke my heart to see my baby all hooked up to tubes and needles...But, as the days went by, she slowly improved! Finally, the day came when we got to take our baby home... And, she's been home with us ever since then, growing into the sweet little girl she is now!! She is a very sweet girl, a bit shy at times...She enjoys anything to do with art! She tells us she is going to be an artist like her Aunt Bops! She spends too much time watching TV, mainly likes to watch Nickelodean...But, lately has shown an interest in soccer and basketball...So, that is our next goal, to get her enrolled in some sports programs! She has really taken a love to reading as well! Doing very well, she can read a few books all by herself..She enjoys being smart, and gets upset if someone in her class is smarter than her...We really are proud of her!! |
