Answer In The Fire

There's an old story about a man who had been stranded on an uncharted desert island.

He had been sailing alone on the Pacific when a storm hit that threw him off course and almost killed him.

After a whole day on the island and no rescue ship in sight, he decided to build a shelter for himself and his only remaining possessions.

He became bitter after a couple of days. 

Why had God allowed this to happen?

Was he going to starve to death?

All he owned was stored in that small hut he had built for himself.

Then the final tragedy struck. After hunting all day for food, the man returned to his hut only to find it had caught on fire! It was going up in smoke.

The man fell to his knees and cried, 'God, how will I learn to trust you when things like this happen?'

Then to his surprise, a rescue ship arrived for him. Astonished, he asked how they found him. Their response, 

'We saw your smoke signal.'

SOMETIMES THE ANSWER IS IN THE FIRE!!

  This story was sent to me from my internet mother in Indiana. To encourage me, when I lost my apartment in the fire on Feb 14th, 2000 and lost most everything I owned. This story helped keep my faith in God. It was the only spiritual food I ate at that time and kept me going and not to have any doubt in God. It helped me more than anyone who helped me physically with moving, cleaning, relocating, etc... Thank you Rose!
