Cades Cove is the best place to see deer, wild turkey and bear.
Cades Cove is located on the south end of the park. The eleven mile loop road circles open fields abudant with wildlife. Deer come out of the woods into the fields at dusk. My wife and I saw ten bucks in a row jump the fence onto the road on a late afternoon trip around the loop road. Some deer stay in the open fields all day. In the wintertime you could see a herd of deer. In last month issue of The Christian Travelers we had a spring picture of a deer fawn following his mother through the tall grass.

On the top of Mt Le Conte there is a lodge and in theMt Le Conte compound deer roam at will. I saw a twelve point buck eating berries about fifty yards out of the compound on the way to the over look. Mt Le Conte may not be accessible to you since it is a six mile walk one way.

Deer are in the woods around the Bud Ogle Farm out Historic Nature Trail Road. The Nature trail that goes from the house to the river and back to the house offers many opertutines to see deer.
