Dear Mother...
Mother I know you will read this and I want you to know that in no way do I think everything I have learned throughout my life was "wrong" and "misguided."  It is quite the contrary actually, I believe you are probably the single best example of a christian I have ever met.  I cannot name one single person that posesses the dedication and conviction that you do.
Being able to not remarry for 19 years is absolutely amazing and is something that not many could have done.  Not only have you taught me dedication and conviction, but you have also taught me what it means to live a christian life.  I know what is right...and what is not.
I cannot imagine my life without a role model such as yourself.  You have given up every thing that is possible for one to give up and I know you would gladly give up more.  I can understand that most parents (all parents) would say the same thing about giving up anything, but not many of them has actually had to do it.  You have!  And I thank you greatly for it.
I see my life as having the best upbringing possible and is a life that should not be squandered.  I understand what you have sacrificed and I hope to become the happy, fulfilled, succesful person that those sacrifices were meant to achieve.
I am also sorry that I have to disagree with you on something as important as baptism.  But you have sacrificed everything for me to grow up and live a life where I am certain of everything.  Certain of everything from what type of degree I wish to receive in college to what I believe is neccesary for salvation.  I hope that you can understand where I am coming from and will not hold it against me.
I truly do love you mom and I also hope that we will not create a gap between our wonderful relationship because of this topic.

  Love,
  Dustin
