Creation
Home page
The main thing to understand about this topic is that it is not life-or-death oriented.  If one believer believes that the word "day" means a long period of time, and one believer thinks it clearly states a 24 hour period, it is not such an important issue as to become angry or offended about.  I believe this topic is more or less an interesting study that has no definete answer...at least not yet.  I tend to lean on the side that the word day in Genesis meant a 24 hour period, but then again I am not a biological scientist (thank goodness:)).
There are a few main "christianity based" theories about how the world was created, and then there is also the secular view that evolution created it all.
Whether you take a liking to the "creation in 7 regular days," "creation in 7 distinct periods of time set in motion by God," or simply, "God guided evolution through its process."  The main idea here is that you believe there is a God and he created everything (by which ever means you choose to believe).  Although the evolution story does seem to have some major flaws in it (but that is simply my opinion).  So as long as you believe there is a God and therefore you will be held responsable for your actions and beliefs there is no reason to get all "huffy and puffy" about how it was made...but it is most definetly a fun thing to study up on and read about.  Almost as much fun as Revelation.
