Many people live in uncertainty, but it is possible to know for certain whether you will go to heaven. Lets review a few facts from the Bible:
Eternal life is a free gift! It cannot be earned or deserved. The Bible says, ". . . it is the gift of God; not of works, that no one should boast." (Ephesians 2 : 8, 9)
Everyone has broken God's law. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3 : 23)
God is merciful. God loves you very much. "I have loved you with an everlasting love" (Jeremiah 31 : 3).
God is just. "I will by no means leave the guilty unpunished" (Exodus 34 : 7b)
Do you see the problem? God is holy and just and must punish sin; but He is also loving and merciful and does not wish to punish sin! God solved this problem in Jesus Christ.
Jesus was both God and man. He was God incarnate. Jesus lived a perfect life, died to pay the penalty for our sins, and purchased a place in heaven for us which He offers as a free gift!
Should this gift be accepted, He requires only faith and obedience.
Faith is like resting in a chair. I can tell you that the chair is strong enough to hold you. You can know in your own mind that the chair will hold you. But you will never get the rest you need until you trust the chair by actually putting your weight in it . . . trusting that it will hold you up. That is the kind of faith we must have in Jesus Christ; trusting that He is able and that He WILL secure a place for us in heaven.
Obedience is found in turning away from your sins. God gives you the ability to do so through His Holy Spirit. He makes us a new creature and our desires change so that we no longer want to sin, and are able to resist temptation.
Jesus is offering you this free gift right now. Would you like to recieve the gift of eternal life?
If this is what you would like to do, go to God in prayer. The Lord will hear your prayer and grant you eternal life. The following is a suggested prayer:
Lord Jesus, I want You to come in and take over my life right now. I am a sinner. I have been trusting in myself and my own good works. But now I place my trust in You. I accept You as my own personal savior. I believe You died for me. I recieve You as Lord and Master of my life. Help me to turn from my sins and to follow You. I accept the free gift of eternal life. I am not worthy of it but I thank You for it. Amen.
If you have recieved Jesus Christ and His gift of eternal life today, I would like to hear from you. If you would like to E-MAIL me, I would be overjoyed to hear the great news! If you would like, I will send you some free materials to help you get started on your journey and can possibly also help you to find a church where you can worship.
May the Lord bless you and keep you!
