| Questions have already been asked regarding were we stand on certain issues. I want to stress that great caution needs to be exercised in this area. We certainly do not want to denominalatonalize this group yet on the same token we do want to sub standardize the Faith. In a biblical sense it is not conducive to the faith to embrace everything. Neither is it conducive to over exclude. The intent here is to stick to basic wording and establish some simple truths. This is a statement of how we are united. Your comments, concerns, and additional suggestions are encouraged. An open forum will be held on this topic after membership reaces 1000. WE STAND TOGETHER UNITED IN THAT * * * 1) We love Jesus and seek to please him. 2) We seek to share the love of Christ with others. 3) We see the scriptures as given by God. a) Therefore we encourage individuals to read it for themselves. b) and encourage its content as the only pathway to Life. 4) We recognize that in Christ there is only one body. a) Despite differences in belief we are one. b) We are called to love one another now, today, this very minute. c) And we agree to disagree agreeably seek common ground yet hold to personal conviction. Further we affirm: 5) The person hood and creativity of God. 6) The divinity and saving work of Christ. 7) The presence and guidance of the Holy Spirit. 8) The communal & missionary nature of the church. 9) And the certainty of future judgment & transformation. Finally, 10) We all recognize the necessity of personal communion with God and each other as vital to our Spiritual growth and well being. These are points that all true believers should be able to agree on. They are inclusive and yet exclusive and should serve to unite us as one heart |
