There's an English & Spanish version. DIVORCE - AN OPEN LETTER by Leida Cadiz Having been raised in a Christian home, our family was very active in the church. Years later I got married and GOD blessed me with a son. While attending Bible college, I discovered my husband was abusive. The LORD protected me although there were many attempts against my life. Every time I spoke the words - "THERE IS POWER IN THE BLOOD OF JESUS"; everytime he fell unconscious and could not even touch me. After 1 1/2 years of a living hell, I finally decided to leave, and that terrible word "DIVORCE" became a reality. But GOD HATES DIVORCE! I felt there was no place for me in the church. Though I felt condemned and rejected, sporadically visited several churches because I wanted my son to know JESUS. At the churches there were beautiful married couples, and I felt I didn't belong. Finally, one night the LORD sent an angel to my door. He was an older man I have never seen before and have never seen since. The fact that I opened the door was in itself a miracle. He talked about JESUS and how he died for the forgiveness of ALL our sins. I knew that-OH! But wait a minute - ALL OUR SINS? The Bible doesn't say all our sins except divorce. It says, however, that the ONLY unforgivable sin is blasphemy of the HOLY SPIRIT. I wept as I realized all the time I had wasted away from HIM whom I love the most, my LORD & SAVIOR Still today many churches do not allow divorcees to fill positions of leadership. The BIBLE that we all have sinned. Is divorce a major sin? An awakening needs to take place in the church today. Many singles ministries are crawling through their spiritual infancy stages with no adequate support. Unfortunately, divorce is rampant in our society. The LORD gave me a song which I have recorded sang in public for the first time during the Association of Evagelical Gospel Assemblies Ministers'World Conference in San Antonio, TX on 1991. Previously I have shared the words of this song during interviews on Christian Television Network in a show called "GOOD NIGHT ALIVE" with Jim Gates. When the show ended, people from the audience came and hugged me with tears in their eyes - they too were set free.
