| [Mrs. Parker] was overwhelmed by everything in the box. There were three neckties that someone had written scripture on, music CD's, DVD, notepads and pens, t-shirt, key chains, a Bible, books, prints, several sharpies (these will be used up right away). There were notes that we read about the impact that Clay had on the lives of his fans. There was also some lotions for Faye. She had tears in her eyes as she looked at all the gifts that had been sent to her son. Her heart has been touched be the generousity of so many people who have never met her or Clay, but love him just the same. She has devoted his old bedroom to the many gifts that have been given to him, so when he is home he can go to his room and see the expressions of love and support for him. Then he can repack his suitcase with a few new things from his fans. Thank you all so very much for your gifts, your prayers (especially this week and the day that lies ahead) for your love and support of a young man who just a year ago and a few hours, was siting next to his dad in the hospital, waiting for the Lord to take him home. Around 10am last year on July 4th, Clay called to tell me, but he couldn't get the words to come out, but I knew that his Dad was now at peace. The time was hard for all of them, but through love and support from family and friends they made it through the days to follow. I know that the anniversary is laying heavy on their hearts, so please continue to keep the family in your thoughts and prayers. My love to you, Frances |
