Many of the CDs on this site are rare and hard to find. Some of them are singles that were sold in Christian bookstores for a limited time to promote a future release. If you go take a good search through a Christian bookstore with a lot of CDs, you're likely to find one or two of these rare CDs available. Here's a few good rarities I found at Lifeway Christian Store.
Most of these require a lot of patience to find. Asking the managers won't help either, because they usually don't keep track of such albums. The Newsboys CD I found was located behind a stack of their newest albums. It was the only one left, although the store does receive a few more every once in a while.
Sometimes the rarest CDs, usually singles, are found online. ChristianBook.com, one of the largest online sources for Christian Resources and Music, has dozens of them. Search for "Single" and you should find several of them, for good prices anywhere from 97 to $8. Here's a few i got from ChristianBook.com:
Looking at only Christian sites doesn't get you everything. Other huge companies such as Borders, BAMM, and Amazon have many rare CCM CDs no longer available at Christian stores. Here's a few that i got:
Yes, I said one cent. In most Christian Bookstores, if you search around, you will find some CDs labeled "Free With purchase of [another CD]". What most people don't know is that if you look on the back of most of such CDs, the price tag says $0.01. Here's a few 1 CDs that i got:
And the funny thing is that the managers know perfectly well about the low prices. I walked out the store several times with over a dozen CDs, after paying a couple coins for them. I asked some people at the desk to confirm the prices with the owner, and he admitted it was really 1.
Most Christian Bookstores receive dozens of CCM posters. Some of the posters you see hanging on the walls can actually be yours. In some stores, they have a box where they dump all the old posters after removing them from the wall. The box sits out in a corner, usually near the music section. All the posters inside are free. Some of them are brand new and even still sealed. Hunting for good posters really depends on luck. Some stores have the box sitting out 24-7 while others rarely put it out. But the fact is that most stores have nothing to do with the hundreds of extra posters they have, and they have to get rid of them eventually.
If you don't mind buying opened or pre-owned CDs, the best places to go are online auctions such as Ebay. Not only can you find hundreds of CCM rarities, the prices are sometimes amazing. Here's a few that I bought from Ebay:
Several of the items on ebay were never available in stores. These include radio promos, presskits, and even autographed guitar picks. Most CCM sellers are very trustworthy, but as with all insecure online purchases, there are still risks involved. So if you are new to eBay, be sure to understand the system before purchasing or selling.
