Have you ever fallen into one of the "Pitfalls in being holistic" in your relating with someone? What happened to that training relationship? I believe that it is easy to fall into the Splittin Pitfall. During a small group session in the past one person we were discussing Christianity with seemed to be sitting on the fence. We (a couple of leaders) were describing some of the great things God could do for a person if only the person let God take control. I think we all knew the person had several personnal problems and would have to work through them as well as taking Christ as Lord of his life. I guess we figured it would be too much for us to try to help him work on his whole life during our limited time. And we knew as well as we talked he had his own understanding of life with God or without God. But we felt we had to give our best for God to try to lead him to Christ. And of course this fellow went his own way and has still had personnal problems and all we can do is pray for him. God will have to touch him in His own time.
