In her rebuke of Paul Clements relative to his stance on feminism, Linda A. Odum finds innovative paths to put the blame of society's ills on the male gender while excusing female behavior as "enjoying her sexual freedoms" (Monitor"My turn," June 29). Dressing (or undressing), talking and acting like a slut is merely an expression of current feminist freedoms and should not be construed as an invite to the male that sexual promiscuity can be had here.

Someone needs a serious lesson in human nature. Did your mother never tell you that boys and men are the sexual aggressors and "pursuit" of the female by the male has been the general behavior in all species since the beginning of time? Right or wrong, that's the way it is, and the role of the ever-dwindling few decent women throughout history, until recently, has been to maintain their purity until the wedding night.

Now, with the advent of feminism and the bra burners of NOW, we have shack-jobs and easy sex galore.

Every action has a reaction, Ms. Odum -learn to live with it!
