Lord, You do not give us a spirit of fear, Your spirit instills in us self-discipline. Let us practice the disciplines of the faith; such as prayer, worship, fellowship, fasting, meditation. Let us not do these things legalistically or out of a sense that we have a bunch of rules to follow. Rather, let us practice the disciplines to access Your Amazing Grace. In Jesus' Name, AMEN.
Father, in this fallen world it is so easy to lose focus on You. It is so easy to get frustrated. It is so simple to forget that we live in a flawed world and that our 'wants' can get in the way of things and can create conflict. Please bless Your children with the stedfastness needed to finish life on the straight and narrow path. Let us live one day at a time knowing that tommorow will worry for itself. Lord God, send a spirit of prayer to your church. Let us as Christians model our lives around Jesus and follow His example of complete dependence on You through prayer. Abba, lead us in worshipping you. Let our worship be in spirit and in truth. Put songs in our hearts and prayers on our lips so that we may glorify you. Send your spirit to be with us when we worship on Sunday mornings, let the prayers, the songs, and Your Word move people's hearts so that they grow closer to you. In Jesus' name, Amen.
