In wake of their hugely successful Offerings tour, Third Day continues to dominate Christian rock and gospel charts with their latest release, Come Together. The boys from Atlanta are back with their unique Southern rock style and a heavy dose of praise. A combination of Mac Powells signature voice, the bands maturing musical abilities, and Monroe Jones production talents has created Third Day at its finest. If you purchase just one CD all year, get Come Together. You will not be disappointed.

How ironic that in light of the tragic occurrences of September 11, the title song is "
Come Together". The song sets the tone for the whole album, encouraging laying aside our differences and coming together in love through the Lord.
Weve gotto come together/Cause in the end we can make it alright/Weve got to brave the weather/Through all of the stormsWeve got to learn to love. The only way the world can see Jesus shining through us is the way we treat and love others. Right now that is needed more than ever.

"
40 Days" is a hard-rocking song of encouragement that throughout the trials of the Christian life, God is in control and has a reason for everything. The sorrow brings me back to You, and You have made me stronger. Brad Averys and Mark Lees guitar talents and Mac Powells gravely voice will have listeners hitting repeat on their CD players.

"
Show Me Your Glory" has the praise and worship flavor that Third Day listeners have come to love so much. Beautiful instrumentation melds with Macs prayer to see the glory of God. You simply have to hear this song for yourself.

"
Get On" is a steadfast rebelling against the attacks of Satan and people who try to drag others down. Hard, Southern rock drives a chorus of, Get on, get on, get on away from me/If youre trying to bring me down.

"
My Heart" is a heartfelt longing for the return of Christ. My heart makes me wonder how much longer/Till Youre coming back to take me away/My heart longs for You to fly right through the sky/And take me to a place where I will never feel my heart break down again.

The first time one hears "
Its Alright", they will most likely think the song is written about a long lost friend. But as one listens and concentrates on the words, they come to the realization that that person is Christ. Its alright/its ok/I wont worry about tomorrow/For it brings me one day/Closer than I was to You.

"
Still Listening" speaks of how so often we look for God to speak to us directly through circumstances or His Word, when all along He is whispering to us through smaller avenues that we fail to recognize. I looked for You in/The fire and the wind/But You werent there as far I could see/I thought Id hear You shout/But then I figured it out/That all along Youre whispering to me/And Im still listening. The music has the flavor of a gospel rock spiritual, complete with hand clapping and a background choir.

The theme of "
I Got You" is simply that God is all a person needs. Be in pleasure of be it pain/Im ready for whatever life may bring/Cause I know that in the end/Everything works together for the good of those who love Him. What an excellent reminder that God is everything we need to make it through this life.

"
I Dont Know" is a moving prayer of seeking forgiveness as Mac sings I dont know how You could still forgive meI would give my life to find Your mercy. Praise God that He is faithful and His mercies are new every morning!

An acoustic guitar and percussion compose most of "
When the Rain Comes", which paints a picture of God being there for us during the hard times. I cant stop the rain from falling down on you againBut I will hold you till it goes away. When no one else is there and loneliness consumes us, God wraps His arms around us and comforts us.

Come Together closes with two songs of worship and praise. "Sing Praises" is a simple worship chorus, encouraging the singing of praises to our Lord and King, because You are God and You are worthy/Of all our lives and all our praise.  "Nothing Compares" serves as a perfect ending to an excellent album. Nothing compares to the greatness of knowing You Lord. This is what Third Day continues to live for as they continue to prove themselves as being one of Christian rocks best.
