| These songs are not just songs but signs of Love for you. from "Holy Moment" In the fall of 1991 in Batvia, New York, several hundred youth got together for the first Teen Mania Acquire the Fire conference. Today over 250,000 youth a year are affected by their efforts, pushing the total number of conference participants over the last 10 years to over one million. From the beginning Teen Manias goal has been to encourage youth surrounded by a culture devoid of hope and purpose to boldly live out their faith in a way that would visibly go against the flow of the mainstream culture. Ten years later, the goal is still the same as they move forward with this years theme UNSHAKEABLE. UNSHAKEABLE is all about energy, passion, and an unwavering zeal for truth that is contagious and real something that is no less evident in Unshakeable, the compilation CD inpop records is releasing through a partnership with Teen Mania featuring the songs that capture the spirit of the conferences. By integrating tools that are relevant to youth today: huge video walls, live worship bands, comedy sketches, pyrotechnics, concerts and great music, these conferences are teaching and training teens how to hold fast to the Truth in a post-Christian worldto stand unshaken. Of all the faith-building tools implemented within the conferences, music is the most tangible, passionate thing that burns the UNSHAKEABLE theme into the hearts of those who attend. Music has the power of emboldening faith, and the new songs sung as well as the established favorites often serve as the soundtrack to the weekend. "Kids sing the songs and remember how God got to them," says Teen Mania president Ron Luce. "We want them to be able to take that with them." In a market flooded with modern worship geared toward the college age, Unshakeable is a refreshing departure, offering worship that is teen-oriented in both theme and style. Jangly and driven electric guitars coupled with tender acoustics and spirit-speaking strings create a complete worship experience that appeals to fans of many musical genres. From the enthused declaration of Gods glory to the quiet reverence of his presence, the truth of Christ is made known through uncompromising lyrics. Im letting go of my ways, Im breakin freeIm cryin out for more of you and less of me, former SONICFLOOd front man Jeff Deyo sings in "Fill Me". This song, along with several other tracks, is poised to be a CHR staple for years to come. As Luce says, the songs are ones of substance and fervor, with lyrics that roll off the tongue. This CD is an anthem waiting to be embraced by youth groups everywhere. Unshakeable features a variety of artists who want to help teenagers worship with all their heart and have been previously involved with Teen Mania. inpop artist and Newsboys member, Phil Joel, sings with determination the title track and label mate Superchic(k) lends its talent with their rendition of Matt Redmans "Holy Moment". Luce joins The Waitings lead singer, Brad Olsen on a powerful version of "Wonderful Cross" and Melissa Tawlks on "God of Wonders". And Salvadors Nick Gonzalez gives a powerful performance on I Want to Be Clean while Plumb returns to the studio with History Maker a song written by Martin Smith of delirious. Nothing will shake me, nothing will pull me away. I am unshakeable. from "UNSHAKEABLE" Imagine a world full of Unshakeable Christians in influential positions: Christians heading up corporations, Christians influencing the entertainment industry, government, science, medicine; a faith unwavering spreading like fire. Teen Mania firmly believes that this kind of world is possible and that it starts with encouraging youth. Together with inpop records, Teen Mania and the UNSHAKEABLE conferences are helping youth become firmly rooted in Christ using the best that music and technology has to offer. |
