| This summer (2004), I had the opportunity to learn raku firing techniques from Baton Rouge based artist and teacher, Therese Knowles. Through the late spring and summer months, I have been very interested in this form as a symbol for passages: boats, wounds, vaginas, organic forms such as leaves and pods, eyes, mouths... this set of eight pieces hang as a wall installation. I think of them as three dimensional wounds. | ||||||||||||||||
