Dark Brahma
Let's learn something about my Church
Dark Brahmas were developed from Asiastic fowl brought to New England by China ships in the last century.  So this breed isn't very old.  They are gentle chickens and have striking plumage color in black and silvery-white for males and a beautiful silver pencil-like steel gray for females.  Their baby chicks have a pattern color of stripes on their backs with feathered feet just like the parents.  Their baby chicks' faces are also very dark.
Let's visit my friends a time or two
let's go back and view some more chickens

Buff Brahma
Buff Brahmas are large chickens that are gentle.  They were developed much later than the other Brahmas, and they are still very rare.  They have the same color pattern as the Light Brahma, only theirs is layered with "buff" or a golden color instead of white.  They are beautiful animals to look at and they lay brown eggs and will set and hatch little ones.  They are also ideal for showing.  Their baby chicks are black fluff with yellow and white patches.

Light Brahma
Light Brahmas also come from Asia and they probably came from somewhere in and around India.  They are an old breed and was introduced to the United States in about the 1850s.  They are massive chickens with a black and white pattern, fully feathered shanks and toes, and they are also very gentle.  They are said to be a quiet chicken that is easy to handle for almost anyone.  They do well in cold weather and the females lay nice brown eggs and they will set and hatch little ones.  Males make good roasting chickens, but they do grow slower than other breeds.  They are easy to dress because of their yellow skin and light feathers.  Their babies are usually a creamy white and sometimes have a touch of grey on their backs.
