What is beauty to the world?
The latest style, the perfect hair,
Big, cute eyes like a teddy bear?
Skin without blemish, a beautiful voice,
A shapely figure that attracts all the boys?
None of these things matter as much
When all of your life is in God's touch.
It's only Him who is beautiful, you see,
He's the only one who deserves to be.
His love is perfect; His words are pure,
Infinite wisdom: trustworthy and sure.
Man will keep judging on outward appearance,
But looking at the heart makes a lot more sense.
Joy
Happiness is like a flower
That blooms for a day,
But joy is a plant
Whose flower will stay
Christianity
It's not an act you need to learn,
Or a way you are at times.
Not what you do, but who you are
That shows true character.
Its loving God with all your heart
And growing in the Word.
It's being thoughtful all the time,
And serving without a reward.
It's asking for His forgiveness,
When you've done wrong things.
And trusting Jesus everyday,
Whatever life may bring.
The Mailman
You may not always look
At the mailman that passes by.
Every day when he drives past,
A little tear falls from his eye.
Though no one can see
And no one really cares,
The God from above
Always hears his prayers.
Though you do not know
What troubles him every day,
You smile when you see him
And say "hello" in a cheery way.
That seems to comfort him
For the rest of the day,
And you may never know
That you made him feel that way.
God's Seed
A seed is like a young mind
Just beginning to comprehend
The greatness of our Lord.
It should be waiting for Him to send.
And when this seed starts to grow,
Its roots spread deep and extended.
All of the trials that rake and hoe,
Won't move it from where God intended.
Future Love
I have not found out yet
What real love is all about,
But when I find my guy
I'll know without a doubt.
I've been waiting patiently
Though sometimes it's been hard,
Staying right and pure,
My heart I have to guard.
When God brings my true love,
I'll be loyal till I die.
With all my trust and care,
I'll forever love my guy.
Days Like Today
When you think the sun won't rise,
When the darkness tells you lies,
When you want your life to change,
When tears start to fill your eyes,
When you feel like you cannot go on,
Hold your faith and just be strong.
God will put all things together,
And soon your heart will make a song.
