In the bossom of His Father : to us, Son -just about covers it.  Yet it clearly states that Jesus is God - the same God as the Father.
   In Colossians 1: 15 - 17, Paul explains:

" And He is the image of the invisible God, the first-born of all creation. For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on the earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities - all things have been created by Him and for Him.  He is before all things and in Him all things hold together."

Now "first-born of all creation" is where a lot of those who believe Jesus is not God are going to jump up and say "SEE!"  To this we go to the original Greek.  The word used in this content is prototokos which we tranlate "first born or first begotten"

The Editor of "The Hebrew-Greek Key Study Bible(NAV), Spiros Zodhiates, TH.D. States: "What it means here is that Christ holds the same relation to all creation  as God the Father and that He is above all creation.  It does not mean He is a part of the creation made by God,
but that the relation of the whole creation to Him was determined by the fact that He is the cause of the creation of all things (John 1:1, Revelations 3:14) and that without Him there could be no creation... We never find this verb
Kitzo (to create) as referring to Jesus Christ as having been created... In Rev. 3:14 the Lord Jesus Christ is called "the Beginning of the creation of God" But the word "beginning" arche, in this instance is not used as the result of God's creation but the cause of God's creation." page 1579

  Jesus is God. Not created. Perhaps for some this truth will never be revealed no matter how much we point to God's Word.  Or is it their version of God is not powerful enough to become true man and true God in one person, Jesus Christ?
   For me, I speak aloud what Thomas proclaimed to Jesus in John 20 :28b
"My Lord and my God" God - Thoes - THE SUPREME DIVINITY!

"He (Jesus) said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" And Simon Peter answered and said, "Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God."
                             Matthew 16: 15-16 NAS
JESUS IS GOD
How are you addressed in the various roles you have in your life?  We often go by other variations of our name and even by differant names, depending on what we are doing and who we are interacting with in the circumstances.  We address others according to their roles: Mr./Mrs./Ms.; mom/dad; first name/nickname; Captian, Couch, Dr., Supervisor, Manager, Secretary, Junior, rookie, assistant...Is there not often a sense of being a different person within each of these roles?  Yet, you are only one being.
   Perhaps this is the easiest layman's way to understand how there are three Persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; yet One God.  God presents Himself by different names in the Old Testiment.  In English we do not always recognize these different names because our translations have used adjectives added to the name God to convey the Hebrew names for God. Therefore, perhaps, we have become indifferent to the variation of roles God is presenting Himself and His nature to us in the Old Testiment and how Jesus fullfilled these in His Person.

El Shadday - The Almighty;
Jehovah - Everlasting/Eternal; Elohim - God; Adonai - Lord/Master;
Jehovah jireh - God will provide; Jehovah rohi - Jehovah my Shepherd;
Jehovah tsidkenu - Jehovah our righteousness;
Jehovah rophe - Jehovah heals; Jehovah nissi - Jehovah my banner;
Jehovah M'Kaddesh - Jehovah who sanctifies; Jehovah shalom - Jehovah is peace;
Jehovah Shammah - Jehovah is there.

There are people who can accept God, and one God, but cannot accept Jesus as God.  They consider it blashemy to call Jesus God. This is why the Scribes and religious leaders in Jesus' day were against Him.  They believed He was falsely identifing Himself as God.
   Looking closer at the Scriptures,"Son" is probably the best term God, the Father, could use to explain who Christ is, in relationship to Himself.
John 1:18 in the Greek translates:

"No man has seen God at any time; the only begotten God, who is in the bosom of the Father, He (Jesus) has explained Him."
