At precisely 12:32 am on March 31st (technically speaking) I met the tall, dark and green eyed one, my favorite and in my opinion the HOTTEST Backstreet Boy of them all *sigh* The one and only Kevin Scott Richardson *scream* I sorta met Brian too but let me start at the beginning. The show ended and everyone started filing out of the venue. I wanted to stop by the merchandise counter but it was crowed and I wanted a far better souvenir that wouldnt cost any money. Let the stalking begin!! Chinita and I went back to the car to collect ourselves. Ya know, reapply makeup, smooth hair back into place etc. Chinita said, We look a mess so, you know were going to meet them. Its a well documented fact that whenever you look your worse thats when you meet them. We were parked in the perfect spot. We didnt park in the clubs lot, which was probably crowed and hard to get out of. We found legal street parking on the next block across the street facing the club. There were girls posted by the alley where their bus was parked and waiting for the Boys. Since we couldnt see the bus from where we were parked and we werent sure which direction they were going to take, I got out with my cell phone (she had her phone) and I walked back around the corner to stand directly across the street from the alley. I relayed everything to Chinita via cell phone. I saw Brian and Howie come out and get on the bus. Before Howie got on the bus he stopped and signed a few things for fans. I was told that Kevin, AJ and Nick were already on the bus. Kevin had apparently got on the bus right before I got there. Suddenly a black limo pulls up and the gates in front of the alley are moved and the limo backs into the alley. Moment of panic!! Following a black limo in DC would be hard as hell!! I stood and watched but then these girls came out the backdoor of the club and hopped into the limo. Thats all I saw. I swear not one Backstreet Boy got off that bus. The lights on the limo turned on as did the buss lights. I relayed this to Chinita, We have headlights! The limo pulled out and went left. The bus pulled up to the curb and started turning right. It was heading in the direction of our parking space. If we could get to the corner we could hop in line behind it with the other stalkers. As the bus was still turning I ran back to the car telling Chinita that the bus was coming our way and to have the engine running. We couldnt get to the corner so we turned around and tried to catch up with them on the next block. The chase was on!! The bus was traveling down Georgia Avenue, heading into downtown DC (for those familiar with the area). We hopped in line with the rest of traffic and other stalkers. The bus had managed to get far ahead of us but we never lost site of that bus even if we seemed to catch every other red light. We went downtown turned right on Constitution Avenue, which is a wider street with three lanes. At one point we stopped at a light, looked over and the other two cars were fellow stalkers. We all kind of looked at each other and knew exactly what the others were thinking, Catch that bus! We were passing all the sites as we followed Constitution Avenue. I thought, Wow if they want a quick tour of the city at night this was the way to do it. We passed the Monument, the Lincoln Memorial, and the Jefferson Memorial and kept going until we hit highway and then passed the Kennedy Center. We were on 66 West. . . we were going to Virginia. We passed through Arlington, Rosslyn, Tysons Corner, Fairfax, and Springfield. We saw the exit for Richmond and had a small moment of panic and when they didnt take it relief washed over us. It was hilarious to see the long line of about eleven cars (we were car number ten) following this huge bus. I bet people on the other side of the road were like, what the hell is going on? When the bus pulled up next to the entrance of the hotel everyone scrambled to find parking the lot was packed. Once everyone was parked we all ran to the entryway where the bus sat. We all stood waiting calmly. The door opened and Ron (their tour manager) got off the bus. He told us that it was late, they were tired and to basically be on our best behavior. We agreed but I couldnt help but think, Im tired, too. After a few minutes of all of us collectively holding our breaths the bus door opened again and Brian Littrell stepped off followed by his gorgeous cousin Kevin Richardson. The excitement that skipped through the little group gathered at the entrance was intense yet, everyone kept their composure, even yours truly. I had the bracelets I made for them in one hand and my camera in the other. Brian said a meek, Hi. To everyone but he didnt stop. He blew past me before I could even think about handing him the bracelet. He was carrying about three huge bags. I contemplated dropping the bracelet in his bag but thought it wouldnt be a good idea. I did not want to be thrown to the ground by some burly bodyguard. Kevin, on the other hand, was stopping for as many people as he could. He was heading right in our direction, since we were standing right by the door. We stepped out and asked him for a picture. He said, Sure! He was so sweet. We realized in that moment that we didnt have anyone to take the picture, since we both wanted to be in it. We turned to Ron who was standing in the doorway but he gave us this look that clearly said, Dont even fucking ask me. There was a girl standing behind us and we ended up asking her. She took the picture with Chinitas camera then took another with her own. Right before Kevin turned to go inside he said she had put her finger over something. We werent sure if he was talking about her camera or ours. I was still clutching the bracelets in my hand. Before Kevin stepped through the door I handed them to him and said, Theyre for you and Brian. I spoke though Im not quite sure how. He looked me right in the eye with those gorgeous green eyes of his and said, Thank you. Then he went on inside, I felt like I was going to burst and sprinkle happiness all over everyone. I wanted to scream but couldnt because my voice was shot from screaming at the show. At some point Ron came back outside got on the bus and got right back off. He told us there was no one else on the bus and that the other three went clubbing. We didnt believe him (because before he told us that the other Boys had got on a plane bound for LA) so we all hung around a while longer. Eventually, people started to leave and give up. We stayed until the bus driver parked the bus and then we gave up and left too. It wasnt until a few days later that we found out the other three Boys did in fact go to a club. They ended up going to Club Modern which is literally right up the street from where I work. Dammit!!! |
