| CHAPTER 3 Kevin drove Christel to her house. They rode there in silence until Christel suddenly started laughing, "Uuummm. . . am I missing the joke?" Kevin asked stunned to hear her laughter. "I just thought of something," she replied. "And that was?" "Well when AJ and I got together I was eating French fries. Now when we break up he's eating the French fries," she replied. "I'm glad you're looking at the bright side of things. . . if you can call it that," he said as they pulled into her driveway. She just nodded and opened the door to get out. She shut the door behind her smiling at Kevin and saying, "Thanks for the ride Spidey," before heading for her front door. Kevin yelled at her through the open car door window. "Christel, what about your stuff?" "I can get it later, I guess. I'll see ya Spidey," she replied as she let herself into her house. "All right bye," he said. Kevin pulled the truck out of the driveway and was gone. ****** Christel stood in the middle of her living room not knowing what to do first. She had a plan working in her mind and she didn't know where to start with it. She decided to change into something a little more comfortable first so she could begin to rid herself of all things AJ. Christel went up to her room and changed into her black shorts and oversized football jersey that she usually wore to bed. She went back downstairs to the kitchen and grabbed a trash bag. She opened the hall closet to clear it of anything AJ had left over the past year. When she was done with the first floor she moved on to the second floor. When Christel was finally finished her house was AJ free. She went straight to the phone and called AJ to come and get his stuff. "Hello AJ?" she said. "Hello, Christel is that you?" he asked. "Yeah it's me. I want uuhh. . . I want you to come over and uuhh. . . get some junk you left here," she stuttered. "You want me to come over now?" he asked sounding stunned. "Well you don't have to I-I-I just wanted to let you know. You can come over whenever you have time to. You don't have to come over now," she said. "It's ok I'll come over now," he retorted. "Alright, but you don't have to, no pressure," she said. "I'm coming," he said before he hung up. Christel hung up and sat on the sofa thinking. Well AJ when you get here I'll have a little surprise for you, she thought. Christel grabbed the bags that had AJ's stuff in them and ran upstairs to her room. She sat in her room looking out the window at her driveway. Luckily for her, her room looked out onto the front of the house. She would know exactly when AJ got there. She dragged the two trash bags that made up AJ's junk closer to the window. She didn't have long to wait; soon AJ was pulling into her driveway. She watched him closely as he got out and came to knock on her door. "Just a minute, I'm coming," she yelled out the window. Christel grabbed the first bag and heaved it onto the windowsill. As AJ stood at her front door she emptied the contents of the bag on his head. "AAAAHHHH!!" he exclaimed. Then Christel grabbed the second bag and emptied that onto his head as well. "What the fuck?!?!" he said this time. The second bag must have contained some of AJ's hair products because when Christel peered out the window, she saw that AJ was covered in several different colors. She couldn't help but laugh out loud at him. "There's your stuff," she said turning from the window. Christel turned on her TV and began flipping channels. AJ stood outside incredulous. He could not believe that she had dropped all his stuff out the window onto his head. He damn sure couldn't believe that he was covered in some of his hair dyes and other stuff. "Christel!! Christel!!" he yelled from the doorstep. "Before I go I want to say something. Christel will you listen to me?" Christel was trying her best to ignore him but he was beginning to get on her nerves. "AJ why don't you go home and leave me alone," she yelled back to him. "Let me say what I have to say first," he replied. "You can say whatever you want, doesn't mean I'll be listening," she retorted. AJ felt defeated but decided to say it anyway. "I'm sorry, really for everything. I shouldn't have jumped to conclusions. I want you to know I never meant to hurt you but, I did and I'm sorry for it. I know you . . . uuuhhhh . . . probably think this is a bunch of bullshit but, its not. I am sincerely sorry," he said. Christel tried her hardest not to hear him. She tried not to hear the sincerity in his voice. As she listened she couldn't help the tears from falling. Christel knew he was sincere but she also knew that she would never be able to trust AJ again. All her feelings for him were shot and she would never be able to love him again. "Christel I mean what I say. I didn't mean to hurt you. I would never do anything to hurt you and somewhere deep down inside you know that. I just hope you think about what I say. I'm sorry Christel, I'm sorry," he finished. Christel let the tears she had been holding back fall. Her silent tears became cries and her cries became violent sobs that racked her entire body. She cried so hard and long that she didn't hear AJ gather what he could off her front steps, get into his car, and drive out of her driveway on down the street. She collapsed on her bed and cried until she finally fell asleep. Her last thought before sleep claimed her was, Why couldn't he be more like Kevin? Kevin would never have done this to me. ****** Hours later . . .when she awoke Kevin was sitting in a chair in her room watching TV as if she had conjured him out of thin air. He turned to her when he heard her sit up in bed. "You have a nice rest, Pooh?" he asked with a smile. At first she couldn't speak she was so surprised by his being there. She blushed a little thinking of the dreams that haunted her sleep. They were all of Kevin. At first he was just talking to her being his usual self. Then he hugged her and they began to kiss. The kiss became more passionate and deeper, before she knew it she naked was and in his arms. "Yea, I did actually," she started hesitantly. "What are you doing here and what time is it?" she asked confusion written all over her face. "That's good. Well it's 8 o'clock and you gave me a key in case of emergency," he replied. "May I ask what the emergency is?" she replied. "Well, I've been tryin' to call but the line was busy every time I called. So I thought I'd come over but when I did you wouldn't answer the door. So I used the key, I thought something had happened to you," he said. "I'm sorry to have worried you, Spidey, but I didn't want to be bothered, that's why the phone was off the hook. I didn't answer the door because I was asleep," she replied. "Why didn't you want to be bothered?" he asked climbing onto the bed beside her. "I needed to do some thinking . . . about me and AJ," she began as she told Kevin about AJ's visit. "When you dropped the stuff on him," he began with a chuckle, "he didn't start any trouble did he?" "No he just apologized sincerely and I guess it got to me," she said with a slight laugh. "How did it get to you?" he asked. Christel simply looked at him as a tear slipped from her eye. Kevin's expression softened at the sight of her distraught face. It really hurt Kevin to see this whole thing with AJ hurt her so much. He would do anything to see her smile again. Before he knew what he was doing his head bent to hers to press a soft kiss to her lips. He pulled away slightly and stared into her eyes. Christel reached up and touched her lips. They felt almost burned by his mere touch. A spark was lit at that exact moment and something sparked to life between them, something that wasn't there before. Kevin pulled her into his embrace then leaned down and gave her a deep kiss. Christel wrapped her arms around his neck urging him to continue. Their lips met in a scorching kiss which seemed to last forever. Christel tore her lips away and gasped his name. Kevin took the opportunity to rain kisses down her neck. He couldn't believe this was happening it felt like a dream. He stopped kissing her long enough to pull her jersey over her head and tossed it to the floor. Christel turned to Kevin and straddled his lap pulling his face closer to hers for several long deep kisses. Kevin wrapped his hands around her waist and inhaled her scent. He knew that one of her favorite scents was Dream by the Gap, and now that very scent engulfed his head and his senses. Slowly she slipped her hands beneath his shirt feeling the toned flesh on his stomach she could only imagine what it would be like to kiss the skin that her hands traced over. Almost reading her mind Kevin pulled his shirt over his head and tossed it in the same direction as her jersey. Christel ran her hands over his tanned muscular chest and marveled at the firm softness of his torso. Christel leaned in and placed little butterfly kisses from his neck down his chest until she reached his navel. Kevin pulled her back up and pulled her face to his for another kiss before he rolled her beneath him. Quickly they rid each other of the rest of their clothes. |
