Our Future
As a developing congregation, for the time being we transform Draughons Junior College each weekend into a church home! We have a sanctuary, narthex, carpeted nursery, five classrooms and two large fellowship rooms.
The congregation owns 6.2 acres of land for future building of a permanent church. It is located on Warfield Boulevard less than 1/2 mile east of Wilma Rudolph Boulevard. Our plans are to build there within the next 2-4 years.
Our Church community is a diverse group. We have all types of households and several ethnic groups. Our worshipping community includes military and a variety of occupations reflecting the surrounding area.
Ministry Synopsis
* Membership is over 200.
* Worship attendance averages 120 each weekend.
* Sunday school is offered for all ages.
* We have a confirmation class of nine meeting every other Sunday during the school year.
* An active youth group meets for a variety of activities.
* Our recently hired musician has started a choir.
* Choir / singing opportunities include Saturday Worship and a Sunday Choir.
*We send 15% of our local regular offerings to support
ministries around the country and the world.
* Through social ministry we have aided a tornado victim, Cumberland ElderCare, and other gift and food opportunities.
* Sunday School is offered year round, including the summer months.
* Advent and Lenten mid-week services and suppers are offered.
* Various classes, like marriage enrichment classes have been offered to our members and the community.
