CHRIST CHURCH ANGLICAN
PARISH CHRISTMAS LETTER, DECEMBER
2003
We are writing this letter to bring all our parishioners up
to date on what has been happening in our parish and our plans for the future.
Again this year, we carried on without a Rector. Rev. Lance Stephens has been coming regularly
for Eucharist the first and third Sundays of each month. Lay people have conducted all other services.
We received a grant to help repair our basement exit and
work will proceed on this project in the spring.
Our fundraising events continued this year with the two pie
sales and our annual Snowflake Bazaar. A
big ‘thanks’ for all of your contributions of time and talents towards these
successful events. Along with the hard
and time-consuming work, we had lots of fun and fellowship.
The big news for our church is that we now have a part-time
priest. Her name is Margaret Powell, and she will arrive soon. We will be sharing Margaret with the Lutheran
Congregation in Terrace. Service times
will change and, as soon as a schedule is finalized, we will send it out to our
parishioners. In the meantime, watch our
ads in the Northern Sentinel newspaper.
We are all looking forward to Margaret's Ministry with us.
We are now ready for the Christmas Season. The church is decorated and the Advent
Candles are being lit each week in anticipation of the Celebration of the
Lord's Birth.
