| They Told Me.... |
| They told me things when I was young Like always walk, never run; Eat all your greens, your crusts as well If you tell lies, you'll go to Hell They told me schooldays would be fun Long summers, always filled with sun They told me, marry just for love that babies are gifts sent from above They didn't say Life can be cruel or explain the exception to the rule They didn't tell me life plays dirty Or warn me I'd be dead at thirty. They never told me all the facts about infection and all of that They said I shouldn't lose my hair And when I did, they didn't care They said I might feel a little sick But never said I'd be that quick They said that I would feel no pain... they'd better think that one out again! They said "You're young, you really should survive, your chances are quite good"... And now I find that was a lie The time draws near for me to die So people don't believe all you hear about dying, lights and angel's tears It's not about moving towards the light Death is an endless dark Goodnight. |
