Sometimes do you feel like the last one picked?
Or like everyone else isn't laughing with you, but
rather at you? Maybe you've been one of the lucky
ones whose never had to experience that, or maybe
you've just been able to close it all out. Regardless,
it does happen, all the time. It's just a matter of
what side you're on that makes the personal difference.
You can't deny the fact that you see it happen everyday.
You might see it offline with your friends or online on the
message boards. People making choices to take sides.
Ask yourself this, what side are you on? Are you the
kind of person who will do whatever it takes to get noticed?
You go along with the group and say things you know are
wrong and cruel, but you do it anyways, so you'll have
supposed friends? Or are you the one listening day in
and day out to people talk about you and say these awful
things and feel you can't do anything about it? Or are you
the hero?
We can all be heros, if we make the choice to do so. Life
is all about choices. We don't always see it that way, but
the choices we make can effect the lives of many. Even
when it seems like such a personal thing.
To be a hero means making the choice to do what's right,
even when doing what's right isn't the easiest choice to make.
To become a hero you have to step out and talk to that person,
who you normally might make fun of. Or even just decide,
today is the day to make a change. To stop acting the way you
do and make it a point to turn around from here on out. God
tells us to be kind to our neighbor, to not talk against them.
In Leviticus chapter 19 God lays out some rules, that we all
need to be reminded of every now and then.
L19:15-"Do not pervert justice;do not show partiality to the poor
or favoritism to the great, but judge your neighbor fairly."
L19:16-"Do not go about spreading slander among your people."
L19:18-"Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against one of
your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord."
I know personally, when I visit certain message boards I see this
happen all the time. You do too. We all complain about it and
spend a lot of time talking about it, but that never gets us anywhere.
Our time is NOW, to make this change. To stand up and be the
hero we all are capable of being. To stop doing things for
popularity and to start doing things for the good of ourselves and
others.
Just because the problem isn't about you doesn't mean you need
to stand by and watch the problem grow. Stand up and make
things happen. It only takes one rock in a pond to make 10
ripples. Imagine what you alone could do? The world is your
pond and we were set here to make it ripple.
It's now the New Year, 2004, make a point this year to open your
eyes and start over. With every new year you are given a chance
to start over. Everyday you're given a chance to start over. God's
love is unconditional, we all mess up, but God will give us the chance
to start over and be the person He created us to be. We were created
heros, in His image. Why not start living up to your full potential? Our
time is now. Let go of what you knew and embrace the unknown. As
long as you have God, you can't go wrong. Give up the past and live
for the moment. Don't live for tomorrow, because we all know, tomorrow
may never come. Live for the here and now.
"Make a choice to be the voice for those who won't speak up for
themselves." Make the choice to stop sitting back and watching it happen.
"You could a be a hero, hero's do what's right, you could be a hero you
might save a life, you could be a hero, you could join the fight for what's
right."

seriously try to put yourself on the other side. Try to open up and see
