I first saw Tekken 1 at a friend's house years ago, I thought it was a nice game but didnt get a chance to play it, then a few months later at the same friend's house he got Tekken 2, a quick scan of the available characters and I chose Armor King.  Used to play tekken 2 on the arcades that I found around Malta, though I never really trained in it, I just played it for fun, and some people said I had a natural talent in it.  When I went to Junior College I used to play it alot there, but not many people played it there so I almost always played the Arcade mode against the computer, which is not a good way to train.

Then one day, I saw a flyer attached to the Urban Jungle door (Junior College downstairs, no teachers no headmaster, lots of smoke, dont know if its still there) that Exotique was gonna organise a Tekken 2 tournament.  I grabbed my friend Oliver and we went to see what we could do.  If I had known that this competition would change the rest of my tekken life I probably wouldnt have gone...

There were lots of people participating, though I didnt know any people at the time.  First round started, and I played with my Armor King agaisnt a guy who used Paul Phoenix.  Had to win about 15 games to pass for the next round, was easy to beat this one.  We had a little break, and the second round began.  I ended against a little kid, good I thought, at least I didnt come up against somebody good from the beginning.  Won the first few games easily and the little kid kept changing characters, then he played with Lei Wulong, started another match, and I couldnt manage to hit him!! Lost a couple games and I started to try find a character that would give me an easier way to fight him, but I kept losing one after the other, he won at least 10 games in a row, and I lost and ended out of the tournament.  Was a little pissed off, but since I wasnt that much of a freak on tekken yet i didnt really mind and just went home.  I would only discover the extent of the damage done by that kid only months later.

Sometime later, Tekken 3 was released on the arcades, and went to play it at White Arrow with Mark, I knew that Armor King wasnt there anymore, so I began searching for another character to play with.  King was a student of Armor King, but I didnt really like him at the time, so the first character I chose for tekken 3 was True Ogre, Mark had taken Eddie and pressed the buttons like a madman. After that fight I took Ogre, and immediately liked him alot, but still I ended taking King as my main character.

Time passed and we finally got Tekken 3 on the playstation, and me, Mark and Oliver started playing it alot at home.  I almost always played with King, and learned all his multi-part grabs, but sometimes I played a game or two with Ogre.  The following summer I had stopped having Oliver as a friend, so Mark and I played it alot together, till I found out that my friend Mauro which I had known from when i still was 6 years old was working at Multimedia Magic (a forestals shop dedicated to playstation and Pc games) at Gallaria Fgura, and we started playing Tekken 3 with him too
