| The Fiery Darts Brothers and sisters of the Lord our God, be ye strong. Cast away the fiery darts which, into your life, comes along; Knowing that, whatsoever good we do, we shall receive The blessings of the Lord Jesus in whom we do believe. Let us put on the whole armor of God. Do His will That, when the fiery darts come, we'll be with Him still; Praising His name, always loving Him with true love, the same As the first time He entered our hearts and we knew His name. We wrestle not with flesh and blood, but principalities. And, to give in to Satan would, then, cause many casualties. We wrestle against the powers of darkness of this old world. Let us fight this evil of darkness with God's word unfurled ... Against spiritual wickedness in high places, in our own land. Walk with our beloved Savior, always our hand in His hand. Wherefore, take unto you the whole armor of our God And, with praise and honor, may we He always and forever laud. In that day, let us stand, having believed and done all. Let us have the breastplate of truth, when He comes to call. Having taken the shield of faith, then let us always stand, Our feet shod with preparations of the gospel in our land. 2002 by Pearlie Duncan Walker http://www.soon.org.uk/duncan_walker/index_walker.htm http://christianpoetry.org/Walker.html http://www.angelfire.com/nc2/treasuredthoughts/PoetryPearlie.html http://www.angelfire.com/nc3/remembering/911OneYearLater.html http://www.kavitanjali.com/poets2/wildfern.htm http://sitepalace.com/wildfern http://my.homewithgod.com/wildfern2 write wildfern@attbi for permission to use this poem |
