| In a World In a world gripped with suffering and pain, World leaders aren't willing to offer refrain. Women and children die in the streets While onlookers watch, as they shuffle their feet. 'Tis sad for those who are living alone, Always returning to an old empty home; With no one to talk to or share their concerns, No one to hold as the world slowly burns. Them who take comfort, with those whom they love, Should bow down on their knees and thank God up above. Hold love firmly deep in your heart. Do not let hatred drive us apart. For, we are all held in the palm of the Lord, Not knowing the hour He will bring down His sword. Time will not wait while we sit and ponder What to do with our lives, to not ever wander ... To challenge the hands of a fast moving clock While not offering hope, friendship, and love; Looking over our shoulder at where we went wrong, Having not shared the peace of the dove. by Valentyne Lang [email protected] |
