| ~~ Hope in Christ ~~ The hurt and the pain drives him into a park, He seats in his car staring into the dark, The last rays shine through the tall trees, Looking like long hands stretching by threes. The sun disappears into the land untold, The stars form patterns beautiful to behold, The illuminated patches of clouds speak silently, Of the pretty designs of creation arranged so perfectly. He seats there struck by the awesomeness, He lays back and stares into the sky's oneness, Momentarily his pain seems to drown away, For beyond the sadness he sees hope not far away. He thinks, God must be really great, He never meant for me to get this treat, The desperation, the desolation, the pain, For the truth of His love is displayed so plain. Touch me again Lord, he whispers to Him, Caress me with your gentle love, he cries to Him, Give me peace within no matter the chaos outside, Give me commitment, your kindness to hold inside. My friend is a man with a heart of love, In the midst of hatred he's calm as a dove, In discouragement he's shown the strength to hope, Believing in the salvation of the Lord at the end of the rope.
