MOSCOW From Baku, Azerbaijan, I took Aeroflot to Moscow (three hour flight). Moscow has changed a lot I thought from when I was there last time in 1997. There are even a huge IKEA store near Sheremetevo Airport, coffee shops all over the city center and lots of new shops and buildings. The Red Square is worth a visit at all times, so that was one of the first places i visited when I was in Moscow this time. I also went to see the Internews office, the North Korean Ambassador and a football match. |

SPARTAK - CSKA MOSCOW While in Moscow, I met up with Dmitry Tuzoff, a friend from the BVB LIST. We went together to the pro-NTV demonstration, took some pictures on the Red Sqare and then went on to see Spartak Moscow - CSKA Moscow in Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow. The match ended 1-0 for Spartak, but it was a rather lousy match, to say the least... The most interesting part was the hooliganism going on among the supporters. They tore out the seats and threw them at each other - as a result 669 people were arrested during and after the match. |
