Thanks Kala for submitting this to us. :) On August 17, 2001, I met Dream Street at Spec's Music in Sawgrass (Ft. Lauderdale, FL). I was with my friend and my dad (how embarrassing)! The wait was pretty short but I could barely wait to meet them. I talked to other fans and they were even more excited than I was. My friend (Heather) wasn't to excited to meet them. She makes fun of them but that's ok. She likes Greg (hehe). I saw some girl kiss Chris!!!! It was SO funny! She was jumping up and down then she asked him and he said, "Ok" and she kissed him so hard on the lips that his head went back and he looked scared. His eyes were wide open... like he saw a ghost or something. When I got up to them, first was Chris. When I saw him, I relaxed so much. He wasn't like, "What's your favorite DS song?" or anything. He said, "Hey, what's your name?" And I said, "My name? Kayla.", then he was like, "Where are you from??", and I said, "I'm from Palm Beach." Then, he asked me, "Is it always this hot??" and I said, "No, it gets way hotter than this." And he had this look on his face that was priceless. He was in shock. It was adorable!!!!! Then he said, "Are you serious?!?" and I said, "Oh yeah" and Greg was right next to him and he had this shocked look on his face, also. Greg was so quiet!! I think he felt left out. So, I wanted to include him. Greg looked exhausted so I said, "Wow, Greg's just all over the place, huh?", and he did a little cute laugh. They signed my magazine. I took pictures of them together and separate. Then, I went to Matt and he said, "Hey" and I said, "Hey, Matt" and he signed my magazine (and of course, I took a picture of him!) Then I went to Jesse. He was serious... he wasn't mean or anything. Just serious. But he was concentrating on the signing and I had to get him to look up by saying, "Jesse?" and he looked up and smiled and I took a picture. Jesse's NOT mean at all, ok, people??? He's just quiet. He must be exhausted too -- I mean, Sugar Beats, AMC, and Dream Street -- that's a lot of hard work for a 14 year old. Well, anyway, last was Frankie. He was busy talking to some producers or something to the side of him but he was adorable (just like the rest of them). I also had to get his attention by saying, "Hey, Frankie?" and he looked and smiled. I took his picture and he signed my mazgine. Well, that's my experience meeting Dream Street. I hope I have more encounters to talk about in the future.St.Louis Missouri august 31 2001 St.louis fair and air show
Larissa~ok so here it goes i went to school that morning and i didnt even think about the night to come. So me and my friend Nora came to my house ate mcdonnalds and watched the ds music video. i left at 4 and i didnt actually get to the stage till 6:30.. so after my dad was frustrated and we walked about two miles around the fair grounds. so i stood there with my friends Drini, Nora, and Molly were all standing there. We looked and we saw the guys go in to the little tent.. not to much later the radio disney person came out and said there are some guys back stage that want to talk to you. and then you heard the guys talk. the came out and sang matter of time. i started to shake as the songs processed and greg reached down and grabbed both of my hands and sang to me. not only is that cool but he did it 4 times. I was leaning on the stage i was so close. My friend who was standing next to me got stepped on by jesse. I got to touch all of there hands like 3 times. I almost got kicked in the head. so then my friends little sister caught greg's shirt. so then the songs went on.. chris looked at me a few times and smiled that made me melt.. so after the show ended we stood in line for a singing. i got a hug from greg and chris and i got a pic with chris to. they are all very sweet guys and i thank them so much for comming here. They played to a crowd maybe to a little over a 100 people which is hardly any. But with me there starting to cry it was honestly the best day of my life. I sure hope they come back to the "show me state." which niether do them or me know why it is called that. |
