| Name: Claudia Swan Birthday: October 14th Birthplace: Brazil Favorite Color: Purple Favorite Food: Strognoff (Her Mom's) Favorite TV Show: Sex and the City Meet Dream Street's Choreographer-Claudia Swan Dreamstreet the Magazine Premier Issue Claudia Swan has been hard at work teaching the guys of Dream Street how to dance. In this first issue of Dreamstreet, we want to introduce you to her. In following issues, though, she will teach you some awesome dance steps and give away cherised secrets of the industry--right on the pages of this magazine! You are also welcome to send any questions you'd like to ask her about choreography, dance techniques or specific moves. But, first you need to know who this dancing diva is! Claudia was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil and has been dancing all her life. She studied ballet, jazz, tap, Afro-jazz, modern and musical theatre dance with a variety of teachers from Brazil and the US. She started teaching dance when she was 13 years old! She's performed in and choreographed shows in Brazil such as The Wizard of OZ, Cats and Annie. Throughout her career, Claudia has also won prestigious awards and competitions. At 17, she moved to the US and continued her work in shows such as "Up On the Block," "Downtime Blues," "Boy Wonder" and, most recently, "Dream Street". So what does she think about teaching Greg, Chris, Frankie, Jesse and Matt? You'd be surprised how much they've learned so quickly-- Greg: "Wow! When we started, Louie said that Greg had two left feet! Now, you can't stop him. He's becoming such a good dancer. He has so much energy! It's hard to keep him from taking his shirt off and showing off his muscles. Watch out girls!" Chris: "Boy he can turn! He has a lot of technique, dances sharp and always look fierce. Chris was the only boy with a dancing background and has grown a lot since we started. To give you a little dirt on him--he hates getting red in the face when he dances. But it really doesn't matter whether Chris' face is red, we all still think he's a cutie!" Frankie: "To be honest, at the dance audition for Dream Street...Let's just say that his picture was in the wrong pile! But, by the time we had to pick the five boys, I reliazed that besides his wonderful voice, he was getting better daily with his dancing. He practices at home in the kitchen. Even if he can't cook, he can definitly dance now!" Jesse: "Being two years younger than the other guys, it's harder--even though he doesn't like to admit it. He's a natural singer, but dancing can get a bit frustrating for him at times. He is a perfect example for those of you out there who believe that you can't dance or are shy about it. Look at Jesse now--he's such an inspiration/" Matt: "Matt is such a natural, such a professional. He just needed a good push and he looks great. Now, he is so much fun to watch, especially when he performs his song, "Hooked On You." |
