Text Box:

Penetrating through the dark room was light,
I shivered at the vivid space it seized!
My certainty that no crack would dare transpire betrayed me.
Out of breath! And with hollow conviction – I passed onto
The invader coiling drastically my whole body to shield the interior.
Months of toil made me produce such enclosure
I dare not let anyone, anything trespass.
It is mine!! Mine for the taking!
It is not greed... Indeed it is not my desire to posses it
Rather my whim to be owned by it, to be one with it.
My aid! My sweat’s reward! My legacy!
An enticing tingle of sounds came from the fissure.
I arrested my ability to hear and it left me exhausting
My already stimulated senses.
Sweat and saliva tickle from my sides and yet
I remain fixed to my realm.

I refused to be beaten by my own folly
No more absurdity… I am no longer imbecile!
Trapped by my infantile mirage once, I was scraped off
And left with nothing, nothing but bare, insufferable memories.
And with already calloused hands resembling my being,
I built what is now rightfully only mine to own.
Breathless… I let out a gasp with my stomach
Rippling from the acrid smell, I swallowed hard with distaste.
Slowly I lay not daring to make a sound,
Afraid to ruin the stillness of my infinite silence.
The calmness was almost a sign… a sign of inanimate totality.
At last I lay and surrendered.
My breathing dropped to normal…
Sweat cooled my skin.
My whole body flat to the floor was then illuminated
By the light
The light bursts on its way through the whole interior to conquer.
As if the interloper knew its way,
as if it knew every details of the room once,
its color, it’s texture, its being.
As if it was once its captor.
