Anger
He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, And he who
rules his spirit, than he who captures a city.
(Proverbs 16:32)
This you know, my beloved brethren. But let everyone be quick
to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; for the anger of man
does not achieve the righteousness of God.
(James 1:19-20)
"You have heard the ancients were told, 'You shall not commit
murder' and 'Whoever commits murder shall be liable to the
court.' "But I say to you that everyone who is angry with
his brother shall be guilty before the court; and whoever
shall say to his brother, 'Reca, 'shall be guilty before
the supreme court; and whoever shall say, 'You fool, 'shall
be guilty enough to go into the fiery hell. "If therefore you
are presenting your offering at the alter, and there remember
that your brother has something against you, leave your
offering there before the alter, and go your way; first be
reconciled to your brother, and then come and present your offering."
(Matthew 5:21-24)
He who is slow to anger has great understanding, But he who is
quick-tempered exalts folly.
(Proverbs 14:29)
He who restrains his words has knowledge, And he who has a cool
spirit is a man of understanding. Even a fool, when he keeps silent,
is considered wise; When he closes his lips, he is counted prudent.
(Proverbs 17:27-28)
Be angry, and yet do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger,
and do not give the devil an opportunity.
(Ephesians 4:26-27)
