FORGOTTEN LEGENDS - Episode III - The Ogre Caves of Rensin

Shenya turned the corner, and again heard the click, click, clacking of whatever source she had heard before. She slowly crept into the room, and noticed that the ceiling appeared to be moving. With blazing speed and fascinating agility, two large, insect-like creatures began to move across the ceiling and head towards Shenya. She was almost paralyzed by fear as memories of time spent by Varas explaining to her the origins and appearance of the most dreaded of drow aberrations a drider.

However, these insects were not driders, and Shenya quickly regained her exposure. Once again acting as bait, she led the insects into the hallway where Killian, Duh, and Arris were patiently waiting. One of the insects dropped down off the ceiling just prior to catching up to Shenya, and met her head on. However, the other insect used his immense strength and agility to remain attached to the ceiling, and stopped right above Duh.

The insect thrust his spear directly down at Duh, and hit him squarely in the head. Duh felt the pain throbbing in his head, and took a wild overhead swing of his massive axe. He connected squarely, and after dodging a few more spear thrusts from the overgrown insect, another wide-arced swing of his axe severed the exoskeleton of the insect from its body. The insect fell to the ground with a thud, and Duh barely managed to step to the side before being crushed under the creatures immense weight.

In the meantime, Killian and Arris kept the insect at bay, feigning offensive maneuvers while remaining in a defensive mode. Shenya fired and reloaded her hand-sized crossbow too many times for her to count. However, the agility of the insectoid beast kept him from harms way. The bolts were ineffective, but the combined power of two mace wielding warriors (albeit of completely different gods) overwhelmed the insect, and it soon became carrion crawler food.

Exhausted, tired, and in much need of bandages and some healing, the group decided that a short amount of time to get away from the caves and head back into town would be considered the most prudent choice. If in fact Teemto was in the cave, it sounded as though he was still alive, and that the boss would have disposed of him by now if he felt it necessary. They retraced their steps to the entrance of the cave, and headed back to Rensin.
