My Web Archive

All the hype about mp3 files, the internet and the music business has very little substance. The only thing that has changed is the size of the selection of available music. The powers that be still control / filter who gets the attention of the web audience.

I have to laugh! because www.mp3.com has "it's" popularity charts for the music on it's site. I was wonderfully shocked when I had the #1 CD in:

www.mp3.com listings regions north_america usa illinois chicago #6 wicker_park #2

The Blues Caught me is at #2 there now...

The joke is: I am the only one who has bought my CD! I have a small inventory of 10 to sell at my gigs... 9 now ... I sold one to a friend last week...

I wonder if I should order 5 more for my inventory and maybe move up the charts a bit at www.mp3.com ?:-)

To see where I am on the charts at mp3.com: (IF I AM)
