Hi ALL

Things have been rather uneventful since Christmas. My last "Ramblings... " was a long before that and I guess it's too late to write about how I spent my Christmas vacation. There have been few events worth writing about these days. Work has been going OK. (read tedious)

I guess I have something to write about now. I got work as a musician. Last Saturday night (2/7/98). I made $50 singing and playing my guitar at a place called Emmit's Pub. It was a totally new experience for me because it's the first time I actually got paid for performing. The owner / manager who books the acts there made a deal with me that I would do the first night for $50 and if it went well, future bookings he would pay me $100 a night. Now I'm waiting to hear if he wants to book me for another night. I think it went well, so, hopefully I'll get another gig there. The common feedback I got was that it was not loud enough. I had been thinking about getting a small PA for this sort of gig because the amp I have doesn't quite cut it. I can't turn it up loud enough to fill a bar and not get feedback from the amp. So, (2/14/98) I went and bought a JBL EON15PAK PA from Guitar Center.

Now I'm broke until payday or I get another paying gig. My next gig will be a benefit for Corn Productions on February 22. They even put my name on the flyer. So my PA debut will help the theatre folks. I really want to see them get rolling again. The "theatre" they had was closed down by the city in mid-December. They are sharing a new space with another company now. I helped set up the stage the other night. There is a lot of work to be done before they put on their first show in what is called "The Sweet Corn Playhouse". I hope they revive their "Tainted Chicken" series that I consider my first break into performing.

Other news from the music front is a co-worker with the toys to make a CD put what I have on tape on CD for me. I'm hoping to find a company to mass produce copies for me at a reasonable rate and quantity. I would love to be able to pimp a CD at future gigs...

So I'll be keeping this "Ramble ... " short. I just wanted to say hi to all and let you know things are going great. Oh yeah ... Happy Valentine's Day.

Chris
